How to Get a Boat in Voyagers of Nera

In this guide, we'll tell you how to get a boat in Voyagers of Nera and how you can use it to travel to other regions of the map and transport heavy cargo.

How to Get a Boat in Voyagers of Nera

You can get a boat in Voyagers of Nera by unlocking the Cargo Skiff at Level 4 in the Knowledge Tree. Once that's done, you'll need the following items to make your first boat:

• 10 Twine
• 30 Wood
• 10 Resin

Boats are not crafted at a workbench; rather, they are placed in the world using Building Mode.

Later on, you can get an upgraded boat called the Carved Trimaran by unlocking it at Level 17. You'll need the following items to craft the upgraded boat:

• 10 Rope
• 20 Shaped Coralwood
• 10 Improved Nails
• 6 Plant Wax

All of the above items can't be acquired until you reach The Reef, so you'll be stuck with the Cargo Skiff until you decide to leave The Embrace.

How to Use the Boat

Both the Cargo Skiff and Carved Trimaran are intended to be crewed by two people, more or less; one person has to control the speed by raising or lowering the sail on the mast, and the other person must steer the boat using the rudder at the rear.

If you're playing solo, your only option is to get the boat moving by raising the sail and then running back to the rudder to steer it. Since it takes time to slow down the boat, it's best to avoid any areas with obstacles, sandbars, or narrow passages if you're moving at high speeds.

You'll need a boat to go to other areas of the map; passing through The Deep region is likely impossible without the safety provided by a boat.

Boats can get damaged if they are attacked by creatures or run into terrain. The damage to your boat is represented by cracks on its hull. If a boat gets too damaged, it can eventually sink and be permanently lost. You can repair a boat with the Basic Patch Kit or Improved Patch Kit tools.

Aside from providing a surface to stand on, boats have another benefit: the Cargo Skiff provides 16 spaces of cargo storage, and the Carved Trimaran provides 32 spaces of cargo storage. Weight does not appear to be a factor, so boats are the best way to move large amounts of heavy items from one location to another.
