Red Soldier Ants aren't the only creatures that can be ridden in Grounded 2. Orb Weavers can also be buggies, though you'll need to find their rare eggs. This is where to find an Orb Weaver Egg in Grounded 2 and get yourself an intimidating mount.

Grounded 2 | Orb Weaver Egg Location

Orb Weaver Eggs are a little larger than a Sturdy Marble piece. They are multicolored, but covered with a white web. When looking for them, have a light to shimmer on the blue and yellow coloring to make it easier to see them. Picking one up will cause nearby spiders to attack you. Like the Red Soldier Ant egg, getting hit will cause you to drop the egg.

Orb Weaver Egg appearance in Grounded 2

At the start of Early Access there are three places to find Orb Weaver eggs: Headless BURG.L, under a Lamppost in Picnic Table, and under the tree in Ice Cream Cart.

Headless BURG.L Orb Weaver Den

Located on the border of the Snackbar Front and Ceremony regions, what remains of BURG.L y is now the main nesting area for the Orb Weaver. Specifically, you want to head to BURG.L's base, where you'll find an impression covered in webs. There will be numerous Web Sacs and Spiderlings, along with both Orb Weavers and Orb Weaver Jrs. Clear through the arachnids as you head further towards the interior.

Picnic Table Lamppost Orb Weaver Den

Under the lamppost in the southeast corner of the Picnic Table region is where you'll find another Orb Weaver Den. These eggs are easy to see during the day since light can shine on them. There are a number of entrances to get under the lamp, but I went in on the side with the rock for easy referencing.

Ice Cream Cart Tree Orb Weaver Den

Orb Weaver Egg location under large tree in Ice Cream Cart region in Grounded 2

This is the hardest nest location to find since it's among the roots of a large tree. There are multiple Orb Weaver areas here and you can get attacked by two Orb Weavers, along with Spiderlings, Orb Weaver Jrs. and Northern Scorpions all at the same time. It's definitely best to clear out the immediate vicinity before grabbing an Orb Weaver Egg.

When going around the tree, you want to look for where a caterpillar is on a root. The cave entrance is to the left of it, with a web on the right side of the opening. Inside, you'll find a room then have to go down a tunnel to reach where the eggs are kept.

Hatching an Orb Weaver Buggy

You'll need to defeat the Mysterious Stranger and gain access to the Penthouse office before you can hatch your Orb Weaver egg. Inside the office you'll find the third TURBO optical disk. Insert it at any Ranger Station and purchase the Orb Weaver Buggy plans.

Hatching requirements for the Orb Weaver Buggy in Grounded 2

To hatch the egg you'll need the following materials to craft the saddle:

  • Blueberry Leather x3
  • Red Ant Mandibles x4
  • Acorn Shell x3

It takes 24 in-game hours for the Orb Weaver to be ready to hatch. In that time you can build it a Spider Nest to call home. It requires:

  • Weed Stem x6
  • Pine Needle x6
  • Web Fiber x6
  • Silk Rope x4
Riding an Orb Weaver Buggy in Grounded 2

The Orb Weaver Buggy is a combat mount. It can't harvest or carry resources, though it does have an inventory you can use. What it excels at is fighting other bugs, intimidating those you don't want to battle, and trapping creatures in webs.

It is much larger than an ant, so you won't be able to ride it in as many places. If you're going to fight anything, however, it's the ideal mount.
