Vampire Survivors developer and publisher Poncle has announced Kill the Brickman, a brand new brick-breaking roguelike developed by a first-time US studio by the delightful name of Doonutsaur.

As revealed during Xbox's Gamescom showcase, Kill the Brickman is available...well, now. You can grab it on Steam and Xbox, and in true Vampire Survivors fashion, it'll set you back just $4.99.

The two studios describe Kill the Brickman as a "brick-breaking, turn-based roguelike bullet-builder from outer space", which is a whole lot of hyphens. You'll combine "relics, clip layouts, and bizarre bullets that explode, corrode, and multiply".

Vampire Survivors' Poncle is back with a brand new roguelike.

In the same vein as games like the recently-revealed RaccoinKill the Brickman is looking to bring the roguelike magic to an existing game genre, in this case Breakout-style brick-breaking arcade titles.

While you "shoot, smash, repeat", Poncle and Doonutsaur say you'll also be collecting, combining, and deploying "absurdly overpowered bullets" in an attempt to "(try to) outsmart" the brickmen of the title.

The two studios are promising "over a dozen elite enemies" and ten boss battles in Kill the Brickman, and in order to do battle with these bosses, you'll have access to "synergies that turn your humble pea shooter into a galaxy-defying hand cannon".

This'll all be wrapped up in what Poncle and Doonutsaur describe as "insane lore, uniquely strange visuals, and nonsensical chaos". If you're a fan of BalatroVampire Survivors, and other ultra-short-burst dopamine roguelikes, this looks like it'll be right up your alley(way).

Poncle's Luca Galante says that Kill the Brickman is "not only a brilliant deckbuilder", but also "one of the strangest ones [he's] ever played", and "that's a good thing", according to Galante.

You can make up your mind whether you agree with him right now, since Kill the Brickman is available to pick up on PC and Xbox. Stay tuned for more.
