How to Get Every Ending in Hollow Knight: Silksong

Like the first game, Hollow Knight: Silksong contains a number of different endings, with one once again being potentially missable. In this guide, we'll go over how to get each ending.

Ending Requirements

Weaver Queen ("Normal" Ending)

If you don't go out of your way to complete any of the other ending requirements, then this is the ending you'll get. Simply reach the final boss, then use Bind when directed after defeating them.

One thing to note is that even if you complete the list of objectives needed for the "true" ending, you'll still be given the option to use Bind. This means that unlike the original Hollow Knight you don't have to worry about missing this ending by accident, as long as you make sure to pick Bind first during the boss fight. However...

Twisted Child ("Cursed" Ending)

This ending has a single prerequisite, which is also the reason why you can potentially miss this. To get it, you must obtain the Twisted Bud in Bilewater, then complete the Rite of Rebirth Wish. Doing this leaves you in a cursed state, unable to heal outside of save benches.

You must then defeat the normal final boss while cursed to obtain the ending. While you don't have access to healing, your attacks have good reach. The boss itself also ironically is easier than previous ones in some ways, due to lacking contact damage.

"True" Ending Requirements

To be able to take on the true finale, there are a number of things that must be accomplished first. However, the exact requirements are still not fully telegraphed in game, meaning for now we've had to make a few assumptions.

The goal is to have the Caretaker in Songclave talk about there being another method to dealing with the final boss. As mentioned earlier, we don't know the exact triggers for this, but there are a few things that are seemingly linked. From what we can tell, you must:

We did not complete every other Wish available outside of those settlements, though there's a chance Great Taste of Pharloom in the Citadel is linked too (you'll want to complete this for the weapon upgrade regardless.)

You'll know when you've done everything when the Caretaker starts talking about how it's "almost time", with this dialogue ending with option to accept the Silk and Soul Wish.

Silk and Soul

The Caretaker needs you to find four different things, though you can potentially get one of these before the Wish is even available. These are:

Maiden's Soul

Map showing the location of the maiden's soul.

The maiden in question is the Chapel Maid, the character you encounter right at the start of the game after making it out of the tutorial section. Simply talking to them will give you the Maiden's Soul.

Hermit's Soul

Map showing the location of the hermit's soul.

You may have run into the Bell Hermit already while doing the Silver Bells Wish, but now is the time they actually serve a purpose. They're found underneath Bellhart, accessed by entering the fast travel building then breaking the wall in the lower right. As with the Maiden's Soul, simply talking to the hermit gives you the Hermit's Soul

Seeker's Soul

Map showing the location of the seeker's soul.

Another soul, but not one obtained by talking to NPCs. This one is for defeating the boss of Bilewater in Bilehaven, a task that is easier said than done. You have to navigate a long section of the map without save points, with an arena fight against multiple enemies before the boss itself.

Snare Setter

Map showing the location of the snare setter.

The final item is the Snare Setter, found in Weavenest Atla (accessed via the Needolin door in Moss Grotto.) It's in a hidden section in a room above the save point, accessible via double jumping.

Once you hand over all 4 items to the Caretaker, you'll be ready to take on the final boss again. The Caretaker appears again just before the final boss to tell you that you should play music to signal when the trap should be sprung. This essentially means you should use Needolin after defeating the boss, instead of Bind like the regular ending.

After the ending is over, you're sent back to the title screen like normal and can go to your save file.

Spoilers for after this ending
