How to Get Spine Cores
After exploring through the Far Fields, you'll come across a large blimp. Inside is the Seamstress, who offers to upgrade your cloak if you can find her 25 Spine Cores.
She says that these come from Hokers, though you don't have access to any info on what these actually are at this point. Thankfully, you don't have to travel far to find the creature you need.
Heading left, you can find a number of floating creatures with spikes sticking out of them; these are Hokers, enemies that fire off spikes when attacked and on death.
To harvest the spikes, you need to have them fire at you, then break the spikes with your Needle once they're stuck in the ground. Note that the glowing items that drop from these much touch the ground once before you can grab them.
The Spine Cores will break if they touch spikes, so it's best to farm them from the Hokers floating above solid ground. They'll respawn after a little bit of time once you leave a room, so you can do a lap around the Far Fields and come back if you're still missing a few spines.
Flexile Spines Reward
Handing over the Spine Cores to the Seamstress gets you the Drifter's Cloak. While visually identical to your previous cloak, you can now press jump while in midair to glide. Gliding into air currents will boost you upwards, useful for reaching new areas withing the Far Fields and beyond.
