The Hell is Us Trial of Lies and Truths puzzle is a short distance into the Temple of the Fallen, the location of the Keystone of Ecstasy that you accessed after opening the puzzle door in the Plains of Mist. Once you're inside, you'll encounter a monument with twin dragons atop it and the following text:

You stand now before the Trial of Lies and Truths.

The Ecstatic Flesh courses through your veins, its rapture entwining flesh and spirit alike, weaving a veil of shifting stars that wreathe and waver before your sight. Yet, amidst this whirling haze, you must grasp firm the Three Ordained Verities, or else let this place be the tomb that swallows your final breath.

The idea of this puzzle is that you must be able to learn the history of the followers of Teaar and apply their beliefs to a pressure plate puzzle at the end. It's important to get each pressure plate correct; making the wrong choice will effectively mean you have to run back to the puzzle from the last save point since you'll probably die.

There is a lot to read in this chamber, but the key elements are the tablets with symbols marked above them. They are:

• Eight-pointed Star: Why do we scorn the empty promises of Sethyris?
• Tree: Who is the one true lord of all mankind?
• Moon and Sun: What fate befell the false god Sethyris?

This temple is dedicated to the followers of Teaar, who were opposed to Sethyris. The tablets without any symbols clue you in on some of the history.

The exit door has six pairs of pressure plates on it, each with a symbol in between them: tree, bird, moon and sun, a weird oblong thing, an eight-pointed star, and a chalice.

We can disregard the bird, the weird oblong thing, and the chalice, as those don't have corresponding symbols. That leaves us to make the following choices:

• Tree: Teaar (left) and Sethyris (right)
• Moon and Sun: Dead (left) and Alive (right)
• Eight-pointed Star: Power (left) and Abandonment (right)

With the information on the plaques and the context that this is a temple of Teaar (which abhors the god Sethyris), we now know the correct pressure plates to stand on. Be warned that stepping on the wrong plate will result in your death; it's a worse version of the pressure plates in the Arcas Spire.

Here are the pressure plates you need to step on, oriented as if you were facing the door:

• Tree: Left plate (Teaar)
• Moon and Sun: Left plate (Dead)
• Eight-pointed Star: Right plate (Abandonment)

As far as we can tell, these plates can be stepped on in any order. Once you've stepped on all three plates, the door ahead of you will open and you can head deeper into this wing of the Temple of the Fallen. Get ready to tackle the Gorge of Our True Sacrament Puzzle next!
