All Grounded 2 Optical Disk Locations

Optical Disks unlock additional crafting recipes, dishes, and more in Grounded 2. Similar to the Chips used in the original Grounded, you'll need to locate these disks to get the best defenses, meals, and scanner upgrades. Finding them can be troublesome, as some of the map icons don't show where you actually need to go to reach the disk, just where you can find it if it was above ground. This is how to find all six TURBO and gray optical disks in Grounded 2.

All Optical Disk Locations in Grounded 2

There are two types of Optical Disks in Grounded 2: red TURBO disks that deal with taming creatures and base defense, as well as gray disks that give new recipes to purchase at a Ranger Station. TURBO disks are found during the main questline, while gray disks are randomly littered throughout the park. 

TURBO Optical Disk Locations

Snackbar Anthill

The entrance to the Snackbar Anthill is to the right of the ranger station back entrance near where you exit after the training walkthrough. When you enter, follow the path until you can go to the right. Clear the pebbles with the Omni-Hammer to proceed. Be prepared as you'll face a Red Soldier Ant. The disk is found in the Buried Treasure chest in front of the corpse. You'll need the Omni-Shovel upgrade to dig it out.

Mysterious Stranger Base in Snackbar Front

After hatching your ant buggy and taking your first ride, someone will contact you by hacking your SCA.B 2K. Contact Sloane through the Ranger Station Comms Array to have her track the signal to the source. 

The stranger has her own base set up under the wooden platform for the Snackbar. This is just to the northwest of the ranger station. Look for a tunnel blocked by roots your buggy can chomp through. Be careful as an O.R.C. Northern Scorpion Jr. will be waiting for you in the tunnel. Use smashing damage to defeat it quicker, if possible and watch how much venom builds up in your system.

Once beat, the disk is found on a knocked over cabinet in front of a purple symbol on the right of the cavern area.

Network Center Penthouse Office

You'll find this disk on the desk to the right of BURG.L's head once you defeat the Mysterious Stranger in the Network Center.

Gray Optical Disk Locations

Toxic Anthill - Optical Disk A

Finding the Toxic Anthill optical disk can take you on quite a journey. The main thing you want to remember is to go where the cockroaches are. 

Starting from Toxic Anthill: South Entrance in Snackbar Front, which is the entrance with a large pesticide can on the left side of the tunnel and a corpse in front of it, head into the darkness. Take you're first left and follow the tunnel. When you come across a room with a spray can with a donut above it, take the right path. Follow the path, avoiding the puddles of pesticide as you go. These will damage you and your buggy. 

At the end of the tunnel will be a large room. The corpse with the disk next to it is on the right side, but you'll have to run to it as there's a boss here. The Cockroach Queen doesn't take kindly to trespassers, so dart in and out if you don't want to fight it. You can also find a secret weapon in this room, so beating her majesty isn't a bad idea if you're prepared.

Spider Den Anthill

This anthill starts off like usual, but soon you'll find it covered with webs and filled with Orb Weavers and Spiderlings. This tunnel system is found in Pine Hill. You'll want to use the North Entrance, found towards the northeast corner of the region. It's on the second level of the area, so you may have to go a bit farther north to get to the correct height. The hole is near the Worm Holes candy container, so look out for that, especially at night, to orient yourself.

Go straight when you enter, then straight at the next intersection. After that take your first right, if you see the room with the webbed Queen Ant, you've gone too far. There's a root hanging in the correct archway so you may have to get off your buggy if you're riding it to actually get in the correct area. The body is found on the right side of the room.

Ice Cream Cart 

This disk is hard to reach simply due to the Chill encompassing the area. Take Blazing Brew with you and bundle up in clothes that improve your Chill resistance. Activating the Spicy Safety Mutation will help, as well. You'll also want a smashing weapon as scorpions have made this area their home. Then head to northeast to reach the Ice Cream Cart. 

When you get to the cart, head towards the right to find a small tunnel entrance to the interior. Once inside, stick to the right side. When you see the row of ice cream cones,  go to the right and pass between two popsicles. Continue up the path, with the cones on your left. Near an ice column you'll see the body with the disk, also to your left. This is before the cone that has Raw Science in it.
