Mutations are rewards for completing specific actions while playing Grounded 2. They offer buffs to specific playstyles, exploration benefits, and resistances to different statuses. Not all of them are shown when you start your adventure in Brookhollow Park, however. These are all the mutations and their perks in Grounded 2.

Complete Grounded 2 Mutations and Perks List
There are four mutation categories: Fighting Styles, Combat Abilities, Exploration, and Survival. The perks they unlock are a mix of active and passive benefits, with some mutations giving up to three separate perks.
Fighting Styles

Each tier of the Fighting Styles category is unlocked by killing a specific number of creatures with that weapon. Tier 1 is 40 creatures, tier 2 is 100, and tier 3 is 200 creatures slain. This doesn't mean you have to use that weapon during the whole fight. You simply need to land the final hit with that specific weapon type.

- Javelineer: Spears deal additional damage when thrown, and some damage dealt to you bounces on your attacker.

Combat Abilities

Parry Master and Ambush both use the same tier goals. Tier 1 is 30 times, tier 2 is 80 times, and 150 is the final tier. Frenzy is unlocked from a single event. Guard Dog has smaller numbers for each tier, though you'll only be able to reach the first tier at the Early Access Launch. Tier 1 for Guard Dog is completing 1 MIX.R event, tier 2 is completing 4, and tier 3 is completing 9 MIX.R events.

- Ambush: Deal critical hits against creatures unaware of your presence.
- Cloak and Dagger: Ambush attacks with daggers greatly increase critical hit damage.

- Frenzy: Defeat the mysterious stranger.
- Perk: Melee attacks trigger rage. You deal increased damage and regenerate health while enraged but cannot time your blocks.

Exploration
Natural Explorer requires you to find multiple areas within the park's different regions. It starts with locating 20 points of interest, increases to 50 locations for tier 2, and ends with 80 points of interest for tier 3. When it comes to collecting gold cards, obtaining 25 unlocks the Trapper Peep.r mutation. You'll need to get 50 cards for tier 2 and 75 cards for tier 3.

- The Quickness: Run faster. Speed boost is temporarily reduced after you enter combat and deal or take damage from a creature.

Survival

There are numerous ways to survive in the park, with some of them getting their own Mutations.
- Cardio Fan: Deplete stamina. Tier 1 requires you to do this 100 times, tier 2 is 250 times, while tier 3 is 500 times.

- Hyperstamina: Regain stamina faster.
- Exhaustion: Lowers the amount of time you spend exhausted after using all of your stamina.

- Reliable Friend: Revive allies (your buggy counts as an ally). Tier 1 needs you to revive 5 allies, tier 2 is 15 allies, and tier 3 is 30 allies. Reviving the same ally 30 times does apply, allowing solo players to fully unlock Reliable Friend.

- Revive Speed: Revive your downed friends faster.

- Fresh Defense: Eat mint shards. Down 1 shard for tier 1, 5 shards for tier 2, and 10 shards for tier 3.

- Sizzle Reduction: Slows the rate that the Sizzle roasts you up.
- Burn Resistance: Reduces the burn damage taken from the Sizzle.
- Gas Resistance: Reduces damage taken from poison gas.

- Spicy Safety: Eat spicy shards. The unlock requirements are the same as Fresh Defense; 1 shard for tier 1, 5 shards for tier 2, and 10 shards for tier 3.

- Chill Reduction: Slows the rate that the Chill shivers your timbers.
- Freeze Resistance: Reduces damage taken when frozen.
- Shatter Resistance: Reduces shatter damage when hit while frozen.

- Mithridatism: Kill venomous creatures. Slaying 5 creatures unveils the mutation, 50 earns you tier 2, and 150 unlocks tier 3.
